Possibility of unassisted replacement depends on the components location. Front stabilizer bushes on the car are difficult to be replaced because special equipment and skills are required.
The procedure of rear stabilizer bushes replacement is a bit easier and can be performed on your own. Before getting down to work it is recommended to study vehicle technical documentation because the procedure can vary for cars of different models.
In order to replace the rear stabilizer bush perform the following:
- Place the car on the car ramp or the lift platform.
- Having unscrewed the fastening nuts, disconnect the links from the stabilizer.
- Loosen the bolts of the fastening bracket of the bush, and remove the component.
- Clean the mounting seat with the help of special agent before mounting a new stabilizer repair kit.
- Apply special grease to the inner surface of a new bush.
- Install a new component and perform reassembling in the reversed order.
Specialists recommend to replace the stabilizer bushes of front and rear wheels simultaneously, despite the degree of their wear.
