How to replace stabilizer link?

The stabilizer links are expendable elements, so if diagnostics proved their defectiveness, the parts are to be replaced. This can be performed single-handedly. It is recommended to perform stabilizer links replacement on one axle in pairs. The replacement algorithm will insignificantly differ for front and rear stabilizer links. Typically the algorithm is the next:

  1. The car sets on the handbrake. A needed body part is lifted with the help of the jack or the lift.
  2. The half-axle is fixed with the help of a hex wrench, fastening nuts of the stabilizer link are unscrewed and after this the component is demounted.
  3. Mounting spot is cleaned, a new component is installed and after this assembling of the elements is performed in the reverse order.

Replace the stabiliser links as a set on each car axle.
It is recommended to change stabiliser bushings while replacing the stabiliser links.
Average service life: 30 000–50 000 km.

Types:

  1. By axle-related location:
    • front stabiliser links;
    • rear stabiliser links;
    • stabiliser links that can be mounted on both axes.
  2. By mounting side:
    • left stabiliser links;
    • right stabiliser links;
    • stabiliser links that can be installed on both sides.
  3. By the fastening element type:
    • two ball joints;
    • two bushings;
    • a ball joint and a bushing;
    • a ball joint and a thread connection.

Anti-roll bar link Information

The most important parts of safety of any vehicle are all elements of the steering and chassis. They are designed, manufactured and assembled by engineers with a special care. All these parts are obliged to ensure maximum safety on the roads in all situations and when driving any vehicle. Steering tie rods are divided into inner and outer tie rods. Steering tie rods or also called intermediate rod, influence the work of the steering system as a whole. Steering tie rods are identical in shape and length to the connecting link of forced control. Thus they are identical both to the lever on the steering column (the knuckle) and the intermediate rod of the steering system.

In order to prevent the contact of the steering wheel when an absolute locking, outer tie rods are almost always rejected at a right angle.

Axial joints of the inner tie rod ends are attached to the steering rack and, thus, are sealed with a corrugated tube. Tie rod ends are angled ball joints or universal joints. The lower and upper covers can be made of plastic, steel or combination of these materials.

If you need to replace tie rod, to not spend your time for shops and service centres. You will waste your time and money and overpay for the required part.
