The work should be performed at a service station because one needs special knowledge and skills to do it correctly. A service station specialist will set the vehicle onto a lifting platform, demount the wheel being worked on, then they will remove brake caliper guides and brake pads. After that they will disconnect the brake caliper bracket from the steering knuckle and demount the defective component.
