How to repair or replace clutch slave cylinder?

On the average lifetime limit of clutch elements in the car is 120 000 – 150 000 kilometers, according to driving style and car operation conditions.

A defective clutch slave cylinder can be repaired, if its unserviceability was caused by replaceable elements. In this case, installation of a repair kit which includes the spring, the protective cap and piston O-rings, is performed. For costs reasons, and for repair efficiency increase, it is not recommended to perform replacement of defective cylinder elements separately.

The procedure of car cylinder repair kit replacement consists in the following: disconnection of the cotter pin, connected to the clutch engagement slave cylinder pusher and removal of the clutch return spring out of the fork. Then, the bolts, fastening the slave cylinder to the clutch casing, are unscrewed, the pusher is removed from the fork, then the cylinder is demounted together with the bolts in holes, disassembling of the component and installation of a new repair kit is performed.

It is quite difficult to perform repair or replacement of the part having no special equipment and skills; that is why it is recommended to perform all this at a service station only.
