How to replace tie rod end?
If the tie rod end is defective, it should be replaced, as it is not subject to repair. As special skills are required for this procedure performing, and wheels alignment angles should be adjusted after installation of a new component, it is mandatory to replace this automotive part at a service station only.
It is recommended to install a new dust boot for the tie rod together with replacement of the tie rod end, as its lifetime is not too long and breakdown of the dust boot can cause breakage of the new tie rod end.
It is recommended to perform tie rod end replacement at a service station.
Replace both tie rod ends simultaneously.
During replacement of tie rod ends, inspect steering tie rods as well.
Average operation lifetime: 40 000 – 70 000 km.
