Washer pump / screen wash pump Information
Washer pump is part of the wiper, which supplies cleaning liquid to the parts that need to be washed – body windshield and lamp glass. This component is situated in the washer tank. Under the washer filler there is the tank. The tank is a vertically elongated vessel. Washer pump is located inside it. As for the pump connector, you will need to remove the expansion tank of the cooling system. Under it there is the connector from the black motor.
The most common problems that can happen with the washer pump when in service mainly occur in winter at low temperatures. If it is operating at very low temperatures, it often fails. So when you start the windshield washer, the motor that is trying to feed water, produces a specific sound.
Water is not supplied as it is frozen.
There are a lot of advises how to unfreeze the water. You can pour hot water, alcohol, which in interaction with water produces heat. Also you try to pour warm antifreeze fluid. But do not follow these advises. The most correct would be to put the car in a garage or covered parking. After some time the water will thaw naturally. One more common mistake is when drivers start to turn the engine. As a result it blows.
If you face this problem, do not rush to buy new motors in repair shops or specialty stores. It will be much cheaper to buy the part you need (tension roller, pulse sensor or window lifter) in our online shop. In this case you will save time and money.
