How to replace radiator frame?
Manufacturers do not indicate exact limits for radiator panel service life. Due to its location on the car, the component frequently undergoes hits and damages. That is why driving style and vehicle operation conditions affect operational lifetime of the component. Often, the top frame and the bumper reinforcement bar are deformed as a result of impact. However, in case of even insignificant deformation the part is not repairable and should be fully replaced.
The replacement procedure of the component is quite laborious and requires special equipment and car repairing skills. To get access to the defective radiator frame, you need to disconnect fog lights together with the power supply connectors, completely demount the bumper, as well as the mudguards and bonnet lock. Then remove wires of fan power supply, unscrew the radiator frame fasteners, provide reliable support for the radiator, remove the defective component and install a new one. The radiator frame is fastened to the car body with the help of weld spots in the areas of connection with fender reinforcements and with side members. In some cases, demounting of the radiator and its connecting pipes, as well as the fan will be required. So, it is recommended to perform replacement of the radiator frame at the service station only.
