How to replace cabin filter?
Cabin filter lifetime depends on its type and the area where the car is operated. As a rule, component replacement should be performed every 15,000–20,000 operational kilometres or at least once a year. If defects appear the component is to be replaced immediately.
It is not necessary to go to a service station to install a new car cabin filter. The procedure is rather simple. First, you should identify component location which can be behind the glove box, under the dashboard or under the bonnet. You can find it in the car manual. Then common algorithm includes the following actions:
- Remove the filter cap after unscrewing fasteners.
- Press on the filter edges and remove it. Install a new component according to markings on its housing.
- Close the filter cap, fasten it.
Replace the cabin filter at the beginning of spring and autumn.
When replacing the filter media, make sure it is set properly and doesn't skew.
Average lifespan: 6 months or 15 000 - 20 000 km.
