CAR Engine mount
Engine and transmission mounts: common defects and their signs
- Wear of the rubber insert.
- Knocking and clicking occurs in the car front part at starting-off or braking.
- During driving on a rough road knocks to the front body part are noticeable.
- Knocking appears at speeds shifting or car acceleration.
- Corrosion of the metal part.
- During driving on a rough road the manual gearbox lever vibrates and speeds may not be shifted.
- Jerks are noticeable at engine start.
- Foreign sounds appear during driving.
How to replace engine and transmission mounts?
A defective part is not repairable; if defect signsare found, it should be replaced.
Procedure of the engine and transmission mounts replacement is quite laborious and its algorithm depends on mounting location of the parts in the car. In order to replace the upper mounts, you need to lift the needed car side with the help of a jack, unscrew fasteners of the component, remove it and install a new one. After this, fasteners of the mount are tightened with torque presupposed in technical documentation for the vehicle.
During replacement of the lower component, you need to set the car onto support structure, in order to avoid displacement of the engine downwards after removal of the defective mount. Mostly, a few men and sometimes a special stand are required for performing this work. That is why it is recommended to entrust it to car service station professionals.
It is recommended to perform replacement of the engine and transmission mounts at a service station.
It is advised to use new fastening elements for components replacement.

Engine mount & gearbox mount Information
Plain bearing is a fixed cylinder, through which the shaft passes. Sometimes these bearings are called sliding sleeves. Plain bearings are made of various metals, plastics, polymers, graphite, carbon fibre, composites and even wood. Radial plain bearing is a housing that has a plain bore. Insert liner or sleeve of antifriction material and lubricating device are set into this bore.
Between the shaft and the bearing bore there is a gap filled with a lubricant that allows the shaft to rotate freely. Lubrication is an essential condition for reliable operation of the bearing.
It provides low friction of the moving parts, heat removal and protection from environmental hazards.
In the manufacture of bearings most often is used bronze, obtained by melting, and sintered bronze powder, retaining lubricant.
In case the bearing was damaged, visit our online shop and order whatever part you need. There is no necessity to go to service centre or specialty shop. In our online shop you can also order water pump and radiator at remunerative prices and with short delivery terms.
